Photography is more than just capturing an image, it’s about revealing a model’s essence. The female form is a vessel of emotion and raw energy. My goal is synchronicity where authenticity thrives. Results go beyond physical beauty – they’re a Gateway to the Soul. This process is about fostering trust and stripping away inhibitions to capture something rare and profound.

My workflow is a meticulous balance of preparation, execution, and post-production, with the majority of time invested in refining images without compromising quality. When I sign my name to the piece, it has to be my best work. This is my lifelong philosophy. Finding the right models willing to bare their emotions is an ongoing challenge, but rewarding. With each session, I evolve as an artist, adjusting on-the-fly to the unique energy that every model brings. As commonly known in the industry, “Photography is storytelling.”

Through years of experience, I have developed an artistic style that aligns with my vision. This journey has taken me across borders, photographing the most beautiful models in the world, and refining my craft to meet the highest expectations of international publishers. Beyond statistics, my ultimate aspiration is to create images that evoke deep, visceral emotion, where art and soul intertwine.

Gateway To Her Soul

I give my models the creative room to show their skills. The female form is a beautifully flowing river. Photos take on new meaning when we’ve succeeded in synchronizing our flow. It’s not so much about her physicality than capturing her spirit.

Even though I plan every photo shoot, everything comes down to organically synchronizing our emotions. It’s rarely about posing, lighting, and backdrops – that’s the baseline. Everything is focused on revealing her soul and establishing shared empathy. I want each model to completely give herself because I’m doing the same in return – no inhibitions, distractions, or insecurities – purity from the depths of our hearts. Even if I get to this stage, it doesn’t stop there. My ultimate goal is to capture her visceral energy – her wild and feral emotions rarely seen by anyone. Getting to this stage is extraordinary. If successful, our photos take on a whole new meaning.

Workflow Time Distribution

This shows the investment in time. A detailed breakdown is outlined in my professional workflow post. By far, the highest investment is dedicated to post-production editing. As standard practice, I don’t “Photoshop” my images. All edits are non-destructive in Adobe Camera Raw, meaning every photo can be reverted to its original state or tweaked further. This helps when submitting sets for publication, exhibitions, or competitions This also provides insight into how my technique has evolved over the years.

Finding ideal models for art nude photography is labor intensive. For every professional model who photographs in fine arts, thousands more would be fantastic. Their journey just doesn’t align with modeling. Finding those gems is a combination of luck and diligence. I mainly look for a propensity to reveal their soul. As my social footprint improves, more inbound inquiries come from amazing models. As they pass through Prague on European shooting tours, I’m lucky enough to host and get to know them better.

I treat each session as an exploration of creativity and learning. Thinking outside the box is an endeavor. An experienced model helps me to see things differently. They bring a unique perspective that allows me to see outside my box. I’m as much a student as a teacher.

I’m blessed with the opportunity to glimpse into the souls of angels. I’m always searching for a muse to take my photography to the next level. We would reveal our souls and trust each other completely. She would gift me her wild side. We would intertwine like water flowing down a river. Our interactions would be so profound that they would make me cry.

Art Nude Collection

I’ve purchased many cherished coffee table books from famous photographers. Eventually, I decided to create a personal collection of digitally curated photos from the internet. This has resulted in a few trends: Firstly, it was a valuable exercise rooted in understanding what I liked and didn’t like. For example, cut foreheads, hands, feet, or tight compositions are rejected. and culminated in a post called Top 10 • Composition Don’ts. Secondly, my photoshopping skills were refined by editing tens of thousands of photos. I converted an average image to a great one with a few tweaks, . This collection is organically changing as photos are deleted that no longer meet my expectations. Better resolutions are replaced and duplicates removed using three different applications (i.e., in order of priority: Duplicate Cleaner Pro, Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder, AntiDupl). Finally, to maintain quality control, only images above 1000 pixels on the shortest side or greater than 100KB are saved to the collection so that any image can print over 8cm x 8cm (3.3”x3.3”) at 300 dpi.

The most important aspect of maintaining a private collection was solidifying my photography style. Gravitating to specific poses, backdrops, and lighting techniques narrowed my focus, and consolidated my tastes. I tap into this collection before a photoshoot to get inspiration and plan out a posing flow for my model. They receive three posts that help to align expectations: Preparation For Models •, Top 10 • Tips For Models, and Top 10 • Posing Directions.

Publications

Angels International magazine contacted me a few years ago requesting the publishing of my work. Once the issue was released many publishers reached out. This took me down a journey of publishing most of my back catalog. After a few months, I realized that my efforts were only reactive, so I proactively contacted publications to showcase my work. This has resulted in a curated list of over 80 international publishers. I’ve prioritized 40 publishers that best align with my style. I have showcased my Top 10 here. A side effect of this exercise is understanding the types of images that publishers prefer. I’m proud that these efforts have resulted in over 150 publications – and 50 covers. Participating in an interview is always an honor.

Publication Distribution

Publishers in my style span the world, except in regions where freedom of expression is illegal. Half of my work has been published in the USA. France, Canada, and Italy share the next 40%. My top four represent traditional hubs for runway fashion.

My current approach is going on photoshooting tours. This begins with scouting for models and searching for an ideal luxury apartment. The additional travel costs can get expensive, but my time is maximized by scheduling back-to-back 3-hour sessions. I take approximately 1000 photos per hour (i.e., ten hours of post-production for every thousand images). A recent tour to Milan, Italy generated 20,000 images requiring 200 hours of editing. It’s a lot of work, but I love it!

Photography Expenses

A significant aspect of my photography is staying organized. I maintain many lists including models, studios, casting calls, correspondence, photoshooting tours, and publications (i.e., split into prospects, submitted, approved, and published lists), to name a few. This graph summarizes my expenses. In 2023 my main costs were in studio and camera equipment. The majority of my expenses in 2024 were allocated to model fees.

Session Style

My style initially focused on glamor and fashion. In recent years I’ve exclusively focused on art nude photography. Initially, my photoshoots were glamour-focused and scheduled throughout the summer in the gardens of Prague, Czechia. Waiting for winter was frustrating, so I bought a few soft boxes and converted my apartment into a studio. This provided the freedom to explore photography in the privacy of my atelier. I still remember being nervous, asking my first model if she wouldn’t mind removing her clothes. I had no experience and no portfolio to leverage such a request. Once that door opened, I never looked back.

Model Age Distribution

I face significant scrutiny for focusing on an eighteen to thirty-two-year age range, particularly in today’s diversity, equity, and inclusion landscape.

I’m strict with the female models I photograph. I’m drawn to a specific look and temperament. I prefer fit models who make a concerted effort to focus on their health and well-being. Four vice incrementally degrade our bodies in varying levels of damage, regardless of gender: smoking, alcohol, drugs, and bad food. For this reason, I’m willing to push my limits for models who actively prioritize their wellness. When facing criticism, my initial reaction is self-reflection, understanding that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. But I’m still baffled by aggressive comments like,” Why don’t you photograph [insert anyone who’s not in my portfolio]?!” It’s no different than asking a landscape artist, “Why don’t you paint people? What’s wrong with people?” My response would simply be, “There’s nothing wrong with people. I paint landscapes!”

Everyone is beautiful regardless of culture, shape, and age. But my artistic focus is specific, and I’m happy to keep it that way.

Model Nationalities

Based in Prague, a majority of my models are Czech. But my strategy has changed recently. I’m planning multiple photoshooting tours throughout the year, in cities where I have a lot of model contacts. This way I expand my style with new models and fantastic backdrops. My long-term goal is to travel the globe and photograph gorgeous women from all cultures, nationalities, and ethnic backgrounds.

Second place are Ukrainians. They’re my current favorite. Something in their culture gifts them with primal and expressive emotions. Ukrainians frequently reveal their soul and infuse our photoshoots with raw, visceral energy. Слава Україні! A close second are the Czech, Slovak, and Polish models. Eastern European women are the most beautiful in the world.

Post-Production Editing

Leaving the best for last, this is a complex but valuable chart to analyze. The solid section and jagged lines are less informative than the trend lines. The first observation is in the declining trendline. Of finalized images from a photoshoot, my average has been 6%. Currently, it’s 4%. This shows that I’ve become more selective with the photos that make the final cut. In other words, from a photoshoot that generates 4000 images, only 160 will make it to the end. The rising trendline explains that from these 160 images, an average of 50% will be sent to publishers. But my most recent photoshoots are at 64%, meaning I’ve conditioned myself to edit through the expectations of an Editor in Chief. This has resulted in systematically deleting photos from my back catalog that no longer meet my quality threshold.
