WORKFLOW • PHOTOGRAPHY
Throughout my photography journey, each stage is planned to capture more than just a pose. From initial scouting and negotiations to the editing, publication, and web content, every phase is crafted to my artistic vision. Art nude transcends mere photography – it seeks to convey deeper narratives and emotions. It’s important to continually evolve methodologies, tools, and values that underpin my pursuit of visual storytelling. This is currently my ten-step photography workflow.
- Scouting ☆ Outbound inquiries utilize various social media platforms. Before traveling I post casting calls. Inbound inquiries are evaluated across several parameters but my main criterion is to assess a model’s ability to make the cover of the TOP 10 Art Nude Publishers in the world.
- Social Media ★ Facebook • Instagram

- Negotiation ☆ Discussing the photo shooting style and contractual terms is essential to ensure we’re both on the same page. Throughout these discussions we’re both reading between the lines and assessing each other’s sentimentality. It’s all about feeling comfortable before we meet in person.

- Preparation ☆ Preparing studio lights and equipment in advance minimizes equipment repositioning and maximizes the chance to take more photos. When traveling I research unique studio locations. Industrial backdrops are ideal (i.e., I’m not particular to boudoir settings). Outdoor shoots require monitoring weather conditions at least 24 hours leading up to our session. Clear skies with sparse clouds is ideal (i.e., three hours before sunset, or ‘golden hour’). Knowing the sun’s location during shooting is important for planning backdrops, lighting, and shadows. A general posing plan also helps establish the shooting flow.
- Cleaning ★ Mop • Bucket • Vacuum
- Planning ★ Site visit • SunCalc
- Photoshooting ☆ Our session begins with getting to know each other. Feeling relaxed on both sides is the foundation of a great shoot. Establishing trust and opening our hearts to a magical experience. Once lighting, composition, and camera settings become intuitive, the doors open to concentrating on emotions. This is where the magic begins and where we shoot becomes a transcendental experience.

- Editing ☆ Much of my time is spent at this stage. It takes 18 to 36 hours to post-produce a photoshoot (i.e., approximately 1 hour for every 100 photos taken with 800-1200 photos taken per hour). For this reason, I’m very selective with the models I photograph. Time is precious. A complete breakdown of my post-production editing can be found here. Finalized images are delivered to my models.
- Adobe ★ Bridge • Camera Raw • Photoshop
- Publishing ☆ Images are submitted to hand-selected art nude publications. I currently track and regularly submit images to the TOP 40 Fine Art Publications around the world (i.e., here is my TOP 10). Once published, then announcement graphics are prepared in landscape and portrait versions with censored and uncensored variants (i.e., catering to all censorship instances). Publisher logos are also vectorized for cleanliness with purchase links to the issue and anecdotal details. When exclusivity windows expire then selected images are posted on social media and complete photoshoots are published on my websites.

- Videos ☆ Motion graphics are a great tool for enhancing the visual presentation of my portfolio. This creative process involves a lot of trial, error, and experimentation. It also increases creation times tenfold (i.e., if I reverse-engineered the same task, it would take one-tenth the time). On average, 120 person-hours are needed to create one minute of video. It’s less about efficiency and more about enjoying the creative journey.
