Many steps lead to an art nude photo shoot. A session may consist of assistants, hair & makeup artists (i.e., HMUA), videographers, set designers, set designers & builders, site location permits, equipment rental, studio rental, etc. Aside from sorting out the financial and contractual terms, it’s also important to agree on the type of photoshoot that will take place. Aligning expectations helps everything to progress smoothly. For this reason, I’ve prepared a generalized Spectrum of Female Photography to ensure that everyone’s on the same page. Definitions may vary and some styles have been excluded for simplicity. This at least provides context as to where fine art nude photography fits in the big scheme of things.
