Throughout this series, I explore various facets of who we are. Understanding our personality helps rationalize our behavior. It brings us closer to understanding our existence and why we’re here.
There are two prevailing approaches to understanding reality: One is faith-based where a divine being oversees our reality. An existence where humanity is the center of the universe. The second is science-based where we’re just grains of sand in a galaxy of a hundred billion stars amongst a hundred billion galaxies. But these grains aren’t people – it’s our planet. We’re just neutrinos on a single grain of sand.
Trying to rationalize the world without understanding ourselves is like building an upside-down triangle. There’s no foundation. Eventually, it’ll all come crashing down. Finding purpose in this universe is the first step down our journey of self-discovery. This begins by knowing who you are: Knowing your personality. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses. Knowing your friends and foes. No one can break you if you know who you are. No one can manipulate you if you know who you are. No one can exploit your insecurities if you know who you are. You’ll never bow to peer pressure if you know who you are.
Finding your inner purpose is the first step down your journey of self-discovery.
I write from the heart. I write from a cornerstone of strength and confidence. I’m not rich. I don’t own a lot of stuff. I don’t have a Ph.D. What I do have is precious to me – I know who I am. I have integrity. I live by the Virtues of Bushido. I try to do better than yesterday. Most importantly, I want to be a good role model for my children so that one day, when I’m gone, they’ll talk about me with respect and love.
